EVANS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND TOURNAMENT 2018 TOURNAMENT RULES

The format shall be round robin into pool elimination rounds. There is a four game guarantee. In case of inclement wather, the tournament dirctor reserves the right to change tournament format as well as guaranteed number of games. In event a cancelation occurs before the champions are determined then the highest two REMAINING seeds left will occupy first and second place.

NSA official rules will apply except where noted otherwise. Protests are to be resolved at time of the protest. Chief Umpire will make final decisions.

Teams may bat the bench. If a player gets sick or injuried and cannot continue, they skip the spot in the batting order with no penalty. The sick or injuried player cannot return to that game. If the player is injuried while on base, the last out will be allowed to pinch run. Of course, teams will be allowed courtesy runners for the pitcher and catcher with the last out allowing to run.

Rosters and insurance certificates are to submitted at least one hour prior to team’s first game. Birth dates, players’ name and uniform number are to be included on this roster. Birth certificates must be available upon request. Rosters limited to 15 players.

Teams should be ready to play 15 minutes prior to scheduled game time.

Home team will be determined by coin flip. The home team will be official scorer. In elimination rounds, the higher seed will be home team.

Diamonds are not to be used for infield or batting practice before games. No hitting (soft toss) into fences.

Games are scheduled for 7 innings except:                                                                                                                

          No new inning to start after 1:30 minutes of play. 

          International tie breaker after 7 innings if time permits.

          Mercy rule in accordance to NSA rules: 12 runs after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, 8 runs after 5 innings.

Round robin standings will be determined by

          Best record

          Head to head record

          Run differential (max of 6 in any given game)

          Runs allowed

          Coin flip.

 

 

 

Semi finals and Championship games will have no time limits, mercy rules will remain in effect.

Each team is responsible for their own insurance. Neither EYB nor the Lake Shore Central school assumes any responsibility for accidents or injuries.

Any team having to forfeit in the round robin play will be charged with a 7-0 loss.

Players are limited to playing for only one team in any age group throughout the tournament.

Game balls will be provided: they are to be returned to the umpires after the completion of each game.

EYB tournament directors reserve the right to change rules as required.

 

Special 10U only rules

  No dropped third strike rule

  No infield fly rule
